College Skate Night

College Late Night Skates are Wednesday nights at the KSU Ice Arena for Kent State college students with a current college ID. Guests may accompany a KSU college student, but must be 18 years of age or older and have an ID.
Cost is $5 (includes skate rental)
No cash payments at the Skate Rental and Concession counters.
CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENT ONLY (Visa, MC, Discover)
Guests must be accompanied by a current KSU Student.
College Skate Night admission sales will begin 30-minutes prior to the session start time.

Wellness Wednesday

Free weekly event for students every Wednesday during the academic year providing wellness education, interactive activities, and giveaways. Participants do not need to be present the entire time.

Wednesdays, Jan. 15 - Apr. 30 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
(No program Mar. 12 Spring Break)

Paint & Pose Yoga Workshop (water bottle)

Join us for a unique and creative workshop that blends mindfulness, movement, and artistry in our Paint & Pose Yoga: Design Your Own Water Bottle class! This fun and relaxing event combines a rejuvenating yoga flow with a creative painting session, all centered around designing your very own personalized water bottle.

Date & Time: Tuesday, Apr. 1 from 5:45 - 7:15 p.m.
Cost: Student $20, Member $25, Non-member $30

Introduction to Climbing and Belaying Clinic

This two-and-a-half hour program covers the basics of indoor climbing including equipment, bouldering, top rope climbing, and belaying with an ATC and Gri-gri device. This program sets up an individual with no prior experience to take our belay test which is required when purchasing a climbing wall membership. Contact adventurecenter@kent.edu with any questions.

Anatomy 3D: Trains, Pains & Chains (NETA CEC Workshop)

The foot bone’s connected to the...shoulder bone? Understand how the body’s kinetic chains are interconnected, affecting movement patterns and training effectiveness across the body. This workshop will also address common dysfunctions and how to identify the root of pain as it relates to movement. Learn how to effectively program workouts and classes, improving movement quality and enhancing performance.

Date & Time: Sunday, Mar. 30 from 12 - 3 p.m.

Bodyweight Strength Building (NETA CEC Workshop)

Utilizing bodyweight as a strength tool is effective and appropriate for all abilities, ages and aspirations. Learn how to realize specific client goals by tailoring bodyweight exercises based on goals and fitness levels. Whether working with brand-new exercisers, active older adults or athletes seeking enhance performance, bodyweight is the most individualize means of effective training.

NETA Group Fitness Certification

Participants will learn basic academic and practical application for teaching group exercise. Our interactive Group Exercise Certification study program guides you through each step, equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as an instructor. From creating dynamic classes to fostering client engagement, we cover it all.

Date & Time: Saturday, Mar. 29 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Pool Kayak Clinic

New kayakers can come learn kayaking skills. Participants may bring their own boats via the loading dock stairs and back entrance as long as the boats are FULLY CLEANED before entering the pool. If you don’t own a boat, one will be provided for you to use. Contact adventurecenter@kent.edu with any questions. Pre-registration IS REQUIRED by the Wednesday before each program.
