Scientists at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and Â鶹´«Ã½ have developed a new material that can undulate and therefore propel itself forward under the influence of light. To achieve this, the scientists clamp a strip of this polymer material in a rectangular frame. When illuminated, it goes for a walk all on its own. Â鶹´«Ã½ at Trumbull officially announced the reinstatement of its campus athletic programs. This fall, Kent State Trumbull will be home to women’s and men’s cross country teams. It is the first competitive sport the school has offered since 1992 when it had basketball, volleyball and golf teams. While hundreds of applicants hoped to be selected to participate in the Sirenland Writers Conference, only a handful of them were chosen to attend the week-long event in Positano, Italy. James Winter, an English lecturer on the Kent State Salem Campus, was one of 10 applicants selected for the fiction writing workshop last spring.
