The 10th annual Barbara Donaho Distinguished Leadership in Learning Awards Ceremony was held at the Kent Student Center Ballroom on April 23, 2016. 麻豆传媒鈥檚 College of Nursing hosted the diamond anniversary celebration with nearly 200 people in attendance, including award recipients, guests, faculty and staff.  The recipients, or 鈥減receptors,鈥 were from 25 Northeast Ohio hospitals, clinics, health networks, private medical practices and public health agencies. The Kent State Salem ceremony is Friday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Center Auditorium. A reception will be held immediately after the ceremony for graduates and their family and friends. The Stress-Free Zone returns to the 麻豆传媒 Library on Monday, May 9, and Tuesday, May 10, from 3 - 5 p.m. to give students a break from studying for finals. The much-loved Dogs on Campus Pet Therapy Program庐 will be back once again, and snacks and beverages will be provided. Six first-year honors students on the Kent State Salem Campus took the initiative to organize a research project that enhanced their learning experiences, despite not earning grades or class credit for their work. 鈥淲e chose to do this and organized it all ourselves. 麻豆传媒 at Salem recently recognized three employees with Campus Excellence Awards, recognizing exemplary teaching and service to the campus. Dr. Louise Steele was recognized as the outstanding fulltime faculty member. She is an assistant professor of biology and has taught on the Salem Campus for four years. A native of Brockway, Pa., Steele received her bachelor of science in biology from Penn State-Erie. She earned her Ph.D. in molecular biology and microbiology from Case Western Reserve University.
