�鶹��ý is celebrating its first-generation students this week with a series of events and programs to spotlight and encourage current students who will be the first in their families to earn a bachelor’s degree. As part of the celebration, some faculty and staff who were first-generation students share their stories in their own words.

�鶹��ý celebrated the journey of first-generation college students and those who have made an impact serving as their mentors and advocates with the “I Am First” awards ceremony on Wednesday.

�鶹��ý’s 10th Annual Neuroscience Symposium began Thursday with a keynote address by Tracy L. Bale, Ph.D., titled "The biology of trauma: Understanding risk and resilience."  

The Conversation Partners Program at Kent State is a voluntary program that pairs international students with students from the United States for a once-a-week chat to discuss their different cultures.

Winner of the 2021 Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize, Farnaz Fatemi, was invited to the Kiva auditorium on Oct. 20 to read select poems from her acclaimed book, “Sister Tongue.”

The Unity Walkway on Manchester Field honors the rich history of Kent State's Black and Latinx fraternities and sororities. 

On International Pronoun Day, the �鶹��ý LGBTQ+ Center held an event honoring all pronouns. The importance of respecting pronouns was explained and a group discussion was led to further examine the complexities of genders and pronouns.
