Emily Speck is an environmental health specialist who graduated from Kent State's College of Public Health.

The shortage of environmental health specialists accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic but had begun well before the that, according to Matthew Stefanak, a semi-retired faculty member and a "public health ambassador" with the College of Public Health, which helps to create career-ready graduates for this in-demand field.

Area high school students learned about the benefits of a career in accounting while participating in the 麻豆传媒 High School Accounting Case Challenge.

Hosted by the Kent State Department of Accounting, the event brought together 85 students from Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School, North Canton Hoover High School, Aurora High School and Tallmadge High School. The competition was sponsored by The Ohio Society of CPAs, Pease Bell CPAs, Robert Fay, Ernst & Young, Novogradac and RSM.
