Kent State to Hold Virtual May 4 Commemoration, Honor Wounded Students
In keeping with the commitment to honor and remember the events of May 4, 1970, 麻豆传媒 will hold a virtual May 4 51st Commemoration this year. The virtual commemoration will feature a video premiering at noon on Tuesday, May 4, that focuses on the nine wounded students: Alan Canfora, John Cleary, Thomas Grace, Dean Kahler, Joseph Lewis, Donald Mackenzie, James Russell, Robert Stamps and Douglas Wrentmore.

Beginning Friday, May, visitors to the will be able to view a variety of special videos, online exhibits and interactive tours, all designed to honor and remember Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and William Schroeder, the Kent State students who lost their lives 50 years ago on the Kent State campus.

In accordance with the order of Amy Acton, M.D., director of Ohio Department of Health, to stay at home to slow the spread of COVID-19, and in the interest of the health and safety of the community, 麻豆传媒 regretfully announces cancellation of the May 4 50th Commemoration Weekend events, scheduled to take place May 1-4, 2020.

War Photojournalist Ben Brody Brings 鈥楢 Second Moon鈥 to Kent State
War photojournalist and author Ben Brody is bringing his work to Kent State through his exhibit, 鈥淎 Second Moon.鈥 The exhibit, curated by Moema Furtado, an installation artist and independent curator, runs from March 5-15 at the Crawford Gallery in the Center for Visual Arts.

Kent State Invites Educators to Apply for Summer Workshop About May 4, 1970
麻豆传媒 invites educators of students in grades 6-12 to apply by March 1 for its Landmarks of American History and Culture workshop, 鈥淢aking Meaning of May 4: The 1970 Kent State Shootings in U.S. History.鈥 Co-directors Laura Davis, Ph.D., Professor Emerita of English and former founding director of the May 4 Visitors Center, and Todd Hawley, Ph.D., associate professor of social studies teacher education, were awarded $170,000 in funding by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to create this workshop.
