Fashion Week 2022 at 麻豆传媒 NYC Fashion

Fashion students from Kent State and IFA Paris collaborated to present their first runway show during New York Fashion Week 2022.

A variety of food trucks gather in front of the University Library on Wednesdays to supply students, faculty and staff passing by with a quick bite to eat. And the Kent State community is taking advantage of it.

Homecoming 2022

The first full week of fall is also the most spirited week at 麻豆传媒. The week of Sept. 26 to Oct. 1 is Spirit Week and includes homecoming weekend at Kent State. The week will be full of events celebrating Kent State spirit.

Students from the Second Annual Read-In read and listen to excerpts from banned books

It may surprise you to learn that 鈥淐aptain Underpants,鈥 鈥淔rankenstein,鈥 鈥淭he Great Gatsby,鈥 鈥淗unger Games鈥 and 鈥淭he Perks of Being a Wallflower鈥 are all popular books that have been banned, along with many others. In honor of Banned Books Week, the Second Annual Banned Books Read-In was held in Taylor Hall.

Kent State baseball held walk-on tryouts for student players last week. 

Students Sydney Marksberry and Austin Brewster at the U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships

This past summer, two 麻豆传媒 students were awarded medals in the U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships, sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating, the national governing body for the sport of figure skating in the country. It is the highest level at which figure skating takes place at the college level.

Kent State Honored as a Military Spouse Friendly School

Kent State鈥檚 support for its military-connected community continues to embody leadership and inclusivity as the Kent Campus has been named an official 2022-2023 Military Spouse Friendly庐 School by Viqtory. Out of 1,800 participating schools, Kent State was one of 665 to receive the Military Friendly School designation in March, and the university is now one of 346 institutions to earn the Military Spouse Friendly School recognition. 

Alumnus Lloyd De Vos Welcomed to the Podium on Constitution Day

In celebration of the Constitution Day, New York attorney and Kent State alumnus Lloyd De Vos spoke on the U.S. Constitution鈥檚 impact on our government and discussed his personal experience arguing a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
