Patrick Tomaswick wants to be a police officer, but not just any member of law enforcement. He wants to be a �鶹��ý police officer.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, students in  �鶹��ý’s College of Nursing have been employed in hospitals throughout Northeast Ohio, where they have honed their skills and observed healthcare professionals on the front lines.

�鶹��ý President Todd Diacon recently presented six Kent State faculty members with the 2020 President’s Faculty Excellence Award, which recognizes exceptional performance that leads to the achievement of national or international recognition in the faculty member’s discipline.

The �鶹��ý alumni family will grow by nearly 5,300 new graduates as the university holds its spring commencement. 

�鶹��ý President Todd Diacon announced Thursday that Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as vice president for student affairs, effective May 1, 2020. In addition, Diacon has appointed Amoaba Gooden, Ph.D., as the interim vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective June 1, 2020.

The �鶹��ý Board of Trustees approved three important budgetary measures to counter expected revenue reductions due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic during a special Board meeting held May 6.

�鶹��ý is launching a series of videos showcasing the talents of our faculty and staff aimed at providing an uplifting respite from the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Beginning Friday, May, visitors to the  will be able to view a variety of special videos, online exhibits and interactive tours, all designed to honor and remember Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and William Schroeder, the Kent State students who lost their lives 50 years ago on the Kent State campus.

�鶹��ý was to move all classes online, causing surrounding businesses to do the same, like WKSU. “WKSU began planning for potential disruptions at the beginning of March,” News Director Andrew Meyer said. “Within two weeks, it became clear that WKSU would need to take action on those plans.”
