鶹ý has again been recognized as one of by Forbes and market research company Statista. In Ohio, Kent State ranks No. 3 among the top 100 employers in Ohio, landing above such notable employers as Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic, both located in Cleveland. This is the third consecutive year that Kent State has been named to the list that highlights America’s best employers. The 2022 ranking also marks Kent State’s highest placement to date on this list.
This recognition was created through an independent survey of 70,000 U.S. employees working for companies with at least 500 employees across 25 industry sectors. The survey considered every aspect of an employee’s experience, including working conditions, salary, potential for growth and diversity.
“I know what a special place Kent State is, and I’m so pleased to learn that our employees feel the same and rate us so highly on the Forbes survey,” said Kent State President Todd Diacon. “Our employees are the heart of this great institution, and I am so proud of their excellent work, their commitment to our students and the way they demonstrate every day that Flashes Take Care of Flashes.”&Բ;
The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employees were also asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industry and state that stood out either positively or negatively. The 2022 list ranks the 1,382 employers that received the most recommendations in each of the 50 states as well as the District of Columbia.
“In the Division of Human Resources, we have a front-row view of our employees, and we are keenly aware of the commitment and dedication they put forth every day to make this university a great place to learn and an exceptional place to work,” said Tiffany Murray, J.D., Kent State’s interim vice president for human resources.
The America’s Best-in-State Employers recognition is another recent honor that Kent State has received for being a top employer. Forbes and Statista named Kent State a Best Employer for Women 2021, ranking it No. 8 among colleges and universities on the list and No. 57 overall in the nation. Kent State also was recognized for the 10th time as a “Great College to Work For” by the Great Colleges to Work For program. Kent State was one of only 15 four-year public universities in the nation and was the only Ohio public university to receive the 2021 “Great College to Work For” designation.
Kent State employs about 5,000 full- and part-time employees across its eight-campus footprint.
