Public Invited to Create a Unique, Digitally Printed Scarf at Special Workshop

Â鶹´«Ã½ Fashion School’s TechStyleLAB hosts workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 5

The Â鶹´«Ã½ Fashion School’s TechStyleLAB will present a special holiday workshop "Introduction to Digital Textile Printing: How to Create a Scarf" on Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the June F. Mohler Fashion Library in Rockwell Hall at 515 Hilltop Dr., just behind the Â鶹´«Ã½ Museum. Cost per person is $50 and can be paid by cash or check.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 330-672-1635 or emailing tslab@kent.edu. Or stop by the TechStyleLAB in Room 122, Rockwell Hall.

Participants will create a unique and personalized digitally printed infinity scarf through the use of a hand-designed image created by instructor and senior fashion merchandising student Prerna Suri.

"This should be a fun workshop for anyone interested in creating a unique gift," says TechStyleLAB Manager, Kevin Wolfgang. "We will provide a basic fabric design, which participants will then use to create their own unique fabric by adjusting colors, size of the print and other aspects of design to make the piece unique to their tastes. All sewing is done by the TechStyleLAB’s staff, so sewing is not required."

Guided by Suri, who holds a bachelor’s degree in fashion design from India, the workshop is suitable for beginners and is open to anyone, including students, Â鶹´«Ã½ faculty and staff, as well as the general public. The scarves will be ready for pickup by Friday, Dec. 14, making the project a perfect holiday gift.

Call the TechStyleLAB at 330-672-1635 with any questions.
