Kent State Celebrates 2015 Homecoming With Parade, Events and Football Game Win

This year's Homecoming was a fun-filled  that included the Bowman Cup 5K Race, Homecoming Parade and . This year’s homecoming featured Kent State alumnus and Super Bowl champion as the Parade Grand Marshal.

Family and friends gathered before the football game at the new Tailgate Party at Dix Stadium. A great event for any Golden Flash, the gathering featured a food truck, face painting area, games and a chance to win prizes.

Other highlights of the day included open houses at the May 4 Visitors Center; new Center for the Visual Arts; the Student Recreation and Wellness Center; College of Education, Health and Human Services; College of Nursing; and tours of downtown aboard Lolly the Trolley, a Flash Photo Zone and a faculty lecture on the “Flapper Fashions of the 1920s.”

The Greater Cleveland LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment findings are in. Led by 鶹ý’s College of Public Health, in collaboration with 120 local organizations and nonprofits, this groundbreaking initiative marks a significant stride toward understanding and addressing the unmet needs of LGBTQ+ individuals across Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Lorain counties. 

Sponsored by the Kent State Alumni Association, the Alumni Awards are the university’s most prestigious alumni honors. The 2024 Alumni Award recipients include seven alumni, two recent graduates, one staff member and one current student.

Homeowners with property damage from Hurricane Ian are contacting their insurance agents, some who may be Kent State graduates.
