University Leaders Discuss Upcoming Reopening of Campus During Facebook Live

Â鶹´«Ã½ Vice President for Student Affairs Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D.,and Dean of University College Eboni Pringle, Ph.D., recently shared updates about reopening campus and what to expect this fall while engaging with the university community.

They answered live questions on the about how students should prepare to return to campus, what life will be like in residence halls and other buildings, and services that are available to support students.

As expected, viewers had questions about the safety of campus as the country continues to respond to COVID-19. Hylton assured students and others that when they have symptoms, tests will be available on campus.

"They can go right to the health center and get that testing done," Hylton said. "We are also in the process of hiring a contract tracing coordinator that will assist us when we do have positive cases."

Student, staff, faculty and visitors are asked to familiar themselves with the Flashes Safe Seven principles in order to keep the campus community safe and health.

Viewers also asked student life, specifically what the campus will be like for new students.

"A big piece of that is helping them to meet and connect to other members of our community who have been here," Pringle said. "Obviously we'll make sure to follow the Flashes Safe Seven but at the same time honoring that new community feel and welcoming that opportunity for our new Golden Flashes, and to make them feel like they are a part of this beginning that they have embarked on."
