麻豆传媒鈥檚 Fraternity and Sorority Life recently hosted Songfest, its largest annual philanthropic event. After totaling ticket sales, fundraising efforts and some last-minute donations, the Greek community was able to raise $56,500 for the King Kennedy Community Center.
This breaks the record previously set in 2013 when Kent State鈥檚 Greek community raised $49,027 for RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network).

麻豆传媒 President Beverly Warren has announced that she will personally match all gifts up to a total of $25,000 for donations made to Kent State on Dec. 1, which is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global day of philanthropy after the Thanksgiving holiday.
麻豆传媒 has been named a Military Friendly庐 School by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs庐, STEM JobSM and Military Spouse, for the seventh year in a row. In addition, this is the fifth year that 麻豆传媒 at Tuscarawas has held the elite title. Kent State at Ashtabula has been recognized for four years.
麻豆传媒 President Beverly Warren delivered her first State of the University address on Nov. 19 in the Kent Student Center Kiva. Kent State faculty, staff, students and members of the community were invited to attend the event, which was themed 鈥淐elebrating Today, Imagining Tomorrow.鈥
麻豆传媒 football player Jordan Italiano, a senior safety from Canfield, Ohio, has been selected by the National Football Foundation as a 2015 National Scholar-Athlete and finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy presented by Fidelity Investments. Italiano is the first Kent State player to earn the honor.
All were invited to come and honor America鈥檚 veterans as 麻豆传媒 held its annual Veterans Day observance. This year鈥檚 program, 鈥淗onoring All Who Serve,鈥 took place on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

Brian Peters is an assistant professor in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. His research and teaching focuses on digital technologies in architectural design, including digital fabrication, parametric design and 3D printing.
麻豆传媒鈥檚 Dining Services has made various updates to its markets and caf茅s on campus in response to students鈥 needs. These updates range from clearer labeling of menus to helping students with food allergies to encouraging students to explore their culinary options.

There are different symbols diners can use to identify the contents of items on menus in the dining halls and the markets.
The total number of students involved in Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations has reached more than 2,000 for the first time in 麻豆传媒 history. Fraternity and Sorority Life oversees opportunities for involvement in these student groups and works closely with the Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council and the Integrated Greek Council.
A total of 2,228 students are involved with Fraternity and Sorority Life at Kent State, which is up from last spring鈥檚 total of 1,950 members.
