Kent State has established a new school within its College of Arts and Sciences focused on the social sciences and humanities. The School of Multidisciplinary Social Sciences & Humanities will provide an academic home for innovative approaches to complex questions.

Members of Kent State organized a food drive to support its local community in the fight against hunger and collected over 20 tons of food between March and August 2020. Due to these efforts, the university was awarded the best case study for the Food Waste Reduction Efforts category in Campus Race to Zero Waste's 2021 Case Study Competition.

Cockeye Creamery's Black Squirrel ice cream

From now through Sunday, Sept. 19, Cockeye Creamery, located at 1805 1/2 Parkman Road NW in Warren, will be serving its Kent State-inspired ice cream 鈥淏lack Squirrel鈥 to raise money for 麻豆传媒 at Trumbull鈥檚 Care Closet. 

2020 Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive

麻豆传媒鈥檚 Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 1-4 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Hilltop Drive. The collection station will be located on Hilltop Drive in front of Cartwright Hall.

Educators from across the country recently attended the weeklong, virtual 2021 Landmarks of American History and Culture workshop, 鈥淢aking Meaning of May 4: The 1970 Kent State Shootings in U.S. History,鈥 which has been made possible in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
