In the darkness, memories of fighting in both Vietnam and Afghanistan blur into a single dream in the restless mind of Don Nicholas, DPM. Nicholas, who was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal, is a Class of 1986 graduate of the College of Podiatric Medicine (CPM), and a rarity in the U.S. military.

Kent State track and field alum Samory Fraga jumped 8.23 meters to win the long jump at the Torneio Cidade de Braganca Paulista meet this past Saturday. The mark is the sixth best in the world in 2021 and the best by a Brazilian long jumper. More importantly, though, the mark was good enough to meet the entry standard for the long jump at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

COVID-19 vaccines are becoming more available across the country, but many are still struggling to obtain a vaccine or are unsure about getting the vaccine. One Golden Flash has made it her mission to get Pittsburgh vaccinated. And with more than 40,000 members of her Facebook group, she鈥檚 on her way. Kent State alumna Leighann Bacher created a Facebook group to share COVID-19 vaccine information and tips with Pittsburgh citizens after attempting to secure vaccines for her family members.

Similar to graduating students who become alumni, retired 麻豆传媒 faculty and staff wish to stay connected to the university. These employees care about the institution and the Kent State community, and they want to see it thrive. One way retired Kent State community members stay informed is through the 麻豆传媒 Retirees Association (KSURA), an organization of more than 800 retired Kent State faculty and staff committed to improving university life.

As Kent State Geauga embarks upon two facility improvements for the Geauga Campus in Burton, the leadership is pleased to announce an initial gift to the project from Preston Superstore and the Preston Family. The campus improvements will include constructing a new nursing lab and instructional space and a new student learning commons, helping Kent State Geauga meet existing and future students' needs while growing programs.

The Zoom Rooms are designed to serve various purposes and room configurations for faculty and students, and they were recently featured in an article by EdTech.

麻豆传媒 has partnered with Greater Akron community organizations to conduct the first comprehensive and specific LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment (CNA). Efforts of this assessment focus on producing a better-informed public health system and improving the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community members.
