Â鶹´«Ã½ has a strong history of student activism. The university wants to ensure students can exercise their right to protest, demonstrate and march about issues that matter to them. And to do it safely.

Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s new series titled Dialogue and Difference: A New Understanding continues with upcoming programming for the university community. The next event, "Dialogue on Hatred: A Peacebuilder's Perspective," occurs on Feb. 22.

The shortage of environmental health specialists accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic but had begun well before the that, according to Matthew Stefanak, a semi-retired faculty member and a "public health ambassador" with the College of Public Health, which helps to create career-ready graduates for this in-demand field.

What do cybersecurity, data structures and algorithms all have in common? They are all part of the computer science industry, an industry that Ohio wants to see grow. The Ohio Department of Higher Education hopes to address a teaching gap through a recently announced funding opportunity called Teach CS.  Kent State was one of the recent awardees, receiving a million-dollar grant to develop KSU TeachCS.

Finding a job for the summer can sometimes be a burden, but for students at Â鶹´«Ã½, it’s easier when the employment prospects come to you. Students and professionals gathered on the second floor of the Kent Student Center on Feb. 6 to kickstart their connections and discuss opportunities for this summer. 

A celebration of life event was held today on the campus of Cleveland State University to honor the late Michael Schwartz, who was a past university president of Kent State and Cleveland State. 

 When Gov. Mike DeWine signed new voter legislation into law in January, he said it was intended to help improve “voter integrity." However, this move is creating hurdles for students on college campuses across the state and making waves in what is expected to be an incredibly contentious election year.

​Students, faculty and alumni from Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s world-renowned School of Fashion sent some of their most exciting designs down the runway on Feb. 8 in Haute for the House, a fashion show that benefitted Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio.
