Kent State's visitors to Rwanda had opportunities to speak with officials dedicated to the country's peaceful future. 

Over the past several weeks, Â鶹´«Ã½ faculty and staff, along with a select group of students, have traveled to Kigali, Rwanda, taking part in a host of educational programs and cultural exchange.

Kent State students experienced Rwandan culture as part of their study abroad experience. 

Students in Kent State's Kigali Summer Institute visited the Lycee Saint Marcel de Rukara reconciliation village in Rwanda to learn about forgiveness after the genocide against the Tutsi with both survivors and perpetrators.

The Props and Pistons Festival has been held since 2013 and is planned and funded by Inspire Aviation, a non-profit organization whose goal is promoting aviation and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education. A trio of Â鶹´«Ã½ students took the lessons they learned on an education-abroad trip to Colombia last year and used them as a framework for promoting peace education practices at a global peace conference in Kigali, Rwanda.
