University leaders recently shared updates about academics and enrollment during a session on Facebook Live.
麻豆传媒鈥檚 Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., and Tal茅a R. Drummer-Ferrell, Ph.D., recently entered the annals of university history. On May 1, 2020, Hylton became the first Black person in the university鈥檚 history to hold the title of vice president for student affairs. And on July 1, 2020, Drummer-Ferrell was appointed dean of students, making her the first Black woman to be named to the position.
About 300 people attended the first in a series of virtual town halls as the Kent State community addresses systemic racism by learning, listening and taking action as a collective.

麻豆传媒 President Todd Diacon announced Thursday that Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as vice president for student affairs, effective May 1, 2020. In addition, Diacon has appointed Amoaba Gooden, Ph.D., as the interim vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective June 1, 2020.

Both answered live questions and discussed such areas as summer class schedules, support for struggling students and staying healthy.
麻豆传媒 held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This year鈥檚 guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of Kent State鈥檚 Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.
