Â鶹´«Ã½ has selected Kenneth Burhanna to serve as the new dean of University Libraries. As dean, Mr. Burhanna will oversee the Â鶹´«Ã½ Library (pictured) and the branch libraries on the Kent Campus.

Following a national search, Â鶹´«Ã½ has named alumnus Kenneth Burhanna as the new dean of University Libraries, effective March 1, 2019.

Chris Post, Ph.D., associate professor of geography at Â鶹´«Ã½ at Stark, is a memorials expert who serves as a member of Kent State President Beverly J. Warren’s Advisory Committee for the 50th Commemoration of May 4, 1970.

Growing up, Chris Post watched as his mom juggled her collegiate studies and motherhood, balancing everyday life with dreams of earning her Ph.D. And while field excursions with his biologist mom are a memory of his childhood, the impact of place is something this cultural and historical geographer seeks to define today.

In May 2018, Â鶹´«Ã½ had the largest number of undergraduate degrees ever awarded. One of the majors with the biggest spikes in growth from the previous year was marketing, which saw an increase of 43 students. The marketing major at Kent State, housed in the College of Business and Administration, aims to teach students valuable skills and lessons they can implement outside of the classroom.

Neil Cooper, Ph.D., of the University of Bradford in the U.K. has been selected as the inaugural director of Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s School of Peace and Conflict Studies.

Record low temperatures aren’t the only thing that has come to the region, as Kent State Ashtabula Wines is releasing its new wine, 17° (Seventeen Degrees), through its partnership with Laurello Vineyards. The new wine, an ice wine, joins the award-winning vintages in the label’s lineup.
